Children must be at least 2 years old and potty trained to start school at our main campus location. Children must be at least 3 years old and potty trained to start the Morning Program at The DoSeum. We also evaluate overall school readiness during the admission process.
We accept students at all language levels. For applicants in second grade and above with no prior exposure to the target language, we conduct an evaluation to assess their proficiency. Based on the results, our academic team will develop a personalized leveling plan to help the new student build language skills before their first day of class.
We offer before care from 7-8 am and after-school care from 3:15-5 pm. During these times, students are given structured activities and a snack under the supervision of an aftercare teacher. We also offer extracurricular activities after school, such as piano and soccer. To learn more about these activities, please visit the Extracurricular Activities page of our website.
Even if parents or caregivers do not speak the target language at home, there are several effective strategies to support language learning. For example, you can encourage your child to listen to music or watch their favorite shows in the target language. Additionally, ISSA teachers can provide ideas and resources to help strengthen language acquisition skills at home.
Acquisition and complete mastery of a second language vary depending on factors such as age, exposure, and individual learning styles. At ISSA, our students typically begin to develop their listening and speaking skills first, allowing them to understand what they hear and respond using a varied vocabulary within a few months. Significant progress in speaking proficiency, as well as reading and writing skills, becomes evident within two to three years of language immersion.
We offer partial financial assistance to families based on need. For more information please visit our Tuition and Financial Aid.

Language immersion programs can enhance a student's overall language abilities, including English. These programs improve cognitive skills, literacy, and cultural awareness, which positively affect English proficiency. While students focus on the target language, they still develop their English skills through consistent exposure and practice. Over time, they achieve balanced proficiency in both languages. At ISSA, we provide daily English immersion exposure as part of our academic curriculum. Students are assessed three times a year on English literacy skills and reading fluency. Our team uses these results to ensure continuous improvement in English acquisition and proficiency. Additionally, small class sizes aid in advancing English reading skills.
