Founded in 2019 by current CEO, Katia Edrenkina, ISSA’s own story is as diverse as its faculty and students. With leadership’s roots across 3 continents; team experience in finance, technology, education, science, and business; and support by friends in corporations, nonprofits, and sports—the International School of San Antonio (ISSA) has flourished in a welcoming environment.
Exponential Growth from the Beginning
ISSA opened its doors with five preschool students. Within four years, attendance grew by a factor of 10. We earned coveted academic accreditations from leading international organizations. Our program attracted faculty from a dozen nations. Today, more than 60 students from ages 3-8 enroll annually, and the number is growing.
Devoted to Multilingual Immersion Education
From our start, we’ve been unwavering proponents of language immersion programs for children. San Antonio, with its diverse history and outstanding cultural opportunities, provides a rich backdrop. Faculty and staff members are native speakers in Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, French, and Russian who bring first-hand cultural experiences to class. Here, students have unique opportunities to learn about their teachers’ native cuisines, holidays, and histories.
Committed to Excellence
Our curriculum is accredited by two leading international organizations: Cognia and LabelFrancÉducation. We also adhere to all Texas education standards, exceeding state requirements in language, arts, and mathematics. With an average student-teacher ratio of 6 to 1, each child benefits from individualized learning.
Join a Caring Community
ISSA families join a caring, multicultural community focused on setting students up for success—not just academically, but for life as well.
