Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, calm, organized, cheerful administrative officer to join our friendly office team. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator who presents a positive impression of our school through in-person, phone, and written communication. A strong admin will pay close attention to detail and be whiz at our systems for record-keeping, billing and communications. An admin who thrives in an environment with a wide variety of tasks where no two days are the same would be ideally suited to this role. The International School of San Antonio is a private school offering comprehensive language immersion education. Our preschool and kindergarten program is for children three to five years old. It helps young people become fluent, confident participants in their worlds, while preparing them for a wider range of future education and career opportunities. Parents can choose the French, Chinese or Spanish track for their children.

In Elementary School, our international curriculum is delivered in a target language of either French, Spanish or Mandarin Chinese and English. Students are developing their reading skills in both languages and building their foundational knowledge of math, science, social studies and arts. In each learning area of the lower elementary curriculum, we encourage students to question the world around them.

Job Responsibilities

  • Interface with the public: greet visitors, manage deliveries, assist on tours, answer the phone
  • Enter data in school software
  • Manage day-to-day financials for the school, including billing
  • Manage records for students and staff
  • Update school policies
  • Manage school and office supplies
  • Other duties as assigned
  • May need to be able to lift up to 35 pounds

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates who will enjoy working in a child-centered environment.

You should have:

He or she will work with the teaching team to reinforce lessons and content taught in the immersion languages. – Teach assigned subjects to lower elementary students according to curriculum plan
-Plan, prepare, organize, and conduct activities that align with the curriculum
-Ensure the safety and physical well-being of the children,
-Differentiate lesson plans based on age, level of development and learning needs,
– Develop positive parent teacher relationships and promote parent teacher partnerships
– Communicate with parents to inform about their children’s academic progress
-Partner with ISSA colleagues to provide a high-quality learning experience, and ensure continuity across the curriculum
– Use different assessment methods to evaluate student progress, their academic strengths and weaknesses
– Maintain accurate attendance and grade records for each student
-Contribute to a working environment that is friendly, respectful, open and honest,
– Organize the classroom space in a functional, clean, neat and attractive way that encourages children to use materials as independently as appropriate
– Monitor student activities in school premise and ensure safety of every student in the classroom and school grounds
– Attend educational trainings and workshops for professional growth
-Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced lower elementary teacher who enjoys working in a diverse and international environment. Experience working in international schools, particularly IB PYP authorized schools is strongly preferred.
-Bachelor’s degree in elementary education or related field from an accredited university, master’s degree/teaching certification preferred
-Experience working with a transdisciplinary curriculum framework, designing engaging, student-centered lesson plans
-Clear understanding of stages of child development and the social/emotional needs of children
-Excellent classroom management skills
-Comfortable working in a mixed-age, multilingual classroom
-Second language proficiency preferred
-Must pass a background check

The International School of San Antonio seeks summer camp teachers for its language immersion summer camps. The ideal candidate will be fluent in the target language for the camp (either French, Mandarin Chinese, Russian or Spanish) and have experience working with young children. She or he will be able to plan fun and stimulating activities that align with our camp themes. She or he will also be conscientious, diligent and punctual. About the International School of San Antonio’s summer camps

Our week-long spring and summer language immersion camps are a fun opportunity for children ages 3-10 to begin learning a new language. Camp is also a great way to maintain language skills during school breaks. Campers participate in hands-on activities, such as arts and crafts, cooking, storytelling, and singing while acquiring a target language. Our camps are open to all students, both students from our preschool, kindergarten and lower elementary school, our Saturday language class students and students from other schools in San Antonio and the surrounding area.

  • plan, prepare, organize, and conduct activities in the target language for a group of children that will be under teacher’s supervision and responsibility,
  • ensure the safety and physical well-being of the children,
  • help the children keep good hygiene,

El/la maestro(a) asistente proporcionará apoyo a la maestra de español en la impartición de clases en un entorno de inmersión del idioma. Notre enseignant(e) de français organise des activités et des expériences pédagogiques appropriées aux enfants, dans un environnement d’immersion dans la langue française.   • Deux ans d’expérience dans l’enseignement d’une population diverse d’enfants âgés de 2 à 5 ans.

Connaissances et Compétences particulières:

  • Maîtrise du français qui doit être la langue maternelle du postulant/de la postulante.
  • Expérience dans la planification et la mise en œuvre d’un programme d’études adapté au développement des enfants
