Many children know the story of the Ugly Duckling. If your child does not know the story of the Ugly Duckling, please make sure they they hear it before tackling the same story in Chinese. Being familiar with a story is so helpful to comprehension, and comprehension drives language acquisition.
I like this version of the Ugly Duckling for learners because it shows the characters “karaoke-style” as the narrator reads. Unfortunately, as with a lot of content, the narration is too fast for many learners. There is a solution, however! Just go to settings in the video (the little gear wheel) and choose .75 speed.
